Misidentified

Last week when I put up photos of the birds in Bois de Liesse, I had originally thought that a white-breasted nuthatch was a black-capped chickadee.  I've put photos of them side by side, they are different. What is amusing is that after mislabelling that bird, the only birds I have run across since have been black-capped chickadees :)

Can you describe the different sounds they make? Does the nuthatch make the same sounds as the chickadee? The nuthatches eye is much further from the black color.

  2. The main chickadee song actually sounds like their name. CHick-a-dee-dee-dee-dee. Whereas the nuthatch has this yank yank song that sounds like someone is mocking you or laughing.
