Syria, it's not over till the dictator leaves....

Despite all the talks and all the 'reforms' nothing much has changed in Syria. The media reform is a good example. Supposedly there was media reform adopted. If so why it is that since the adoption of these reforms, 8 Syrian journalists have disappeared. Whereabouts unknown?  Right, they are 'reforming' those journalists....

Every time Assad talks to outside governments or groups, he cracks down even harder to squash the uprising inside Syria. The regime kills about 20 civilians a day. According to documents this is a good number because the international community doesn't get too upset. However each time Assad talks to a group, at the moment the Arab League, the figures go way up, especially after he realizes they won't impose much sanctions or anything else.

They were talking of a deal similar to Yemen's. Well Tawakol Karmen isn't pleased with the GCC brokered deal for Yemen. Especially because it absolves of all consequences Saleh and members of his family who are in charge of various parts of the army.  No one should get a free pass. I mean admittedly Saleh at this point isn't killing as many Yemeni's as Assad is killing Syrians, but it's not that much better, and it certainly isn't a contest of who can be the most murderous dictator.

One of the stupid statements I read yesterday coming from the Arab League was about how the opposition has to put down their weapons for there to be any kind of dialogue. What weapons? The peaceful protesters are NOT armed.  The Local Coordinating Committee, re-issues statement of peaceful protest.  Well worth the read. Explains the goals of the Syrian people.     So if the Arab league wants the opposition to lay down their arms, what about Bashar Al Assad? He can go on using tanks and anti aircraft missiles against his own people, and the Arab League expects the opposition to dialog?  Besides the "weapons" of the opposition are their words, their songs, their determination and the fact they want to be FREE.

The people united can never be divided! God, Freedom, Syria!
